Alphabet magnets were first created in the 1970s as an educational toy. The colourful letters made their way onto fridges all over the world, despite not being designed for it.
We loved the playfulness of magnet letters but felt that they should be functional (& beautiful) too, so we set to work.
Your box of Wordbits contains 60 letters and symbols, each with a neodymium magnet strong enough to hold a greeting card. There are seven colours of Wordbits to choose from, including our exclusive colour collaboration with Mustard Made lockers.
Wordbits are made from post-consumer recycled ABS Plastic which is BPA and phthalate free.
Wordbits' award-winning typeface was custom designed, with play in mind. For example M and W are interchangeable for maximum versatility; the I and O also do double duty as numbers 1 and 0. Keep a running game of naughts and crosses on the fridge with our perfectly balanced X and O letterforms.
Wordbits began as a creative side-project, launching on Kickstarter in 2019. Our crowdfunding campaign met its funding goal within just 4 days and ended 240% funded. We'll forever be grateful to the Backers and early supporters who helped make Wordbits a reality.
