FAQ's

Will the batteries really last 2 years?

YES - They could last 3 years based on how often you use your car.

The Guardian's custom designed operating system cycles the unit between awake and sleep mode. In simple terms its asleep 99% of the time. The Guardian also uses standard D size batteries which have a significantly higher capacity than rechargeable batteries.

This combination will raise and lower The Guardian bollard over 2000 times before needing to be replaced. If you only take your car out twice a day the batteries will last over 2 years.

If you don't 2 years out of the batteries we will pay for new set - no questions asked.

How is The Guardian attached to my parking space?

The Guardian comes with the bonding solution pre-installed, all you need to do peal off the backing tape, place The Guardian down, and stand on it for 3 minutes.

As there no need to drilling anchor points into your parking space no Body Corporate or building manager approval is required.

In areas where theft is a real issue The Guardian has 3 bolt down points, but this is not needed in most residential situations.

If you wish to take your Guardian with you when you move you will need 2 people and a crowbar to get it up.

If something breaks what do I do?

This is highly unlikely, but should this be the case please email CustomerService@MyParkingSpace.com.au and we get you up and running again.

All repairs within the first 2 years will also be free of charge under our 2 year warranty.

How many remotes do I get?

The Guardian comes with 2 remotes, and you can buy more if needed.

The Guardian can also work with up to 10 individual remotes should you need to share your parking space with others.

On the remote there are 4 buttons, A or Attention raises the bollard, B or Bed lowers the bollard, and C for Charge will activate the LED battery voltage display. D is reserved for future use.

What happens if the batteries go flat while The Guardian is up?

If you check the voltage every 6 months or so and change the batteries when it reads 10 volts or less this should not occur.

But if it does, the main actuator that raises and lowers the arm is connected buy a clevis pin. Simply open the center console and pull out the red locking pin and remove clevis pin. You can then manually close the arm.

Once you get new batteries just raise the arm and put the clevis pin back in.

What happens if The Guardian bollard is activated while a car is in the space?

The Guardian has 2 built in current protection systems. If these trip due to a jam or a car being over The Guardian you will need to wait a few minutes for these to reset. Then you will be able to close the arm.

Is The Guardian really Australian made?

Yes we are. You can check us out on the Australian Made website here The Guardian Certification

Shipping?

If you order before 5pm we will ship the following working day. There is a flat $15 shipping fee Australia wide and you will need to sign for the delivery.

Please note we are unable to ship to a PO box due to the size of The Guardian.

Its expensive compared to the Chinese imports?

Yes and no.

As the imported models need to be bolted down, unless you are handy with the tools and have a hammer drill, there will be additional costs to install the imported models. They also require Body Corporate approval before they can be installed.

As The Guardian does not need to be bolted down no Body Corporate approvals are required, and it can be installed the day it arrives.

The imports also lower capacity rechargeable batteries, meaning you need to recharge them every 6 - 9 months, and they cost twice as much to replace.

With The Guardian you get a minimum 2 years operation without the hassle of recharging the batteries.

If you are still thinking about buying an imported model just ask them one question, does their warranty cover being driven over? The answer will be NO! It's in a car park....., it's going to happen.

Being driven over is at the core of The Guardian's design and will not void your 2 year warranty.

If you have made it this far you must be seriously annoyed with your neighbors.

The only thing left to do is make the purchase and watch them park in somebody else space.
