"The entire collection of WorryWoo books are awesome. Each book covers topics that children may possibly have encountered or experienced. The book enages children in a respectful manner while offering sound wisdom about how to navigate feelings and thoughts."

Amazon Review

"From the moment we opened the first page of this beautiful book, we had goosebumps because the words inside are exactly what every child needs to hear! The Hug creates a warm and safe space as you read the story, inviting each child to dive into the wonderful world of The Hug and feel like the most special child in the world! The Hug is a book that promotes comfort, love and kindness and makes each child feel unique and important, what every child needs. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this book and all that it promotes! A nightly read in our house and one that we promote with all of our clients, a book for every child!"

Sally Davies ~Director Sanctuary Family Connections

"The Hug shares the message that our love and belief in our children stay with them through the day and that comfort can come from within."

Dr Kaylene Henderson ~ Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and Parent Educator

"I can truly say that every child who has been in contact with the Woos gains something positive from their experience. It often leads to pleas to bring home their own Woos, and these then accompany them to each session to meet my own “Worry Woo Crew”. I marvel at them every day, because they not only normalise feelings for children, but they also help teach them that the worries are a part of them and that they are “OK”. Brilliance!"

Cherie S, Trauma Specialist

"The stories have helped young children to start identifying complex emotions. As a result students are more able to verbally communicate their feelings rather than acting out in irrational or unsafe behaviour. This has helped to lessen incidents and improve peer relationships."

NJ, Kindergarten Teacher

“A very powerful message written in a way that kids understand. I bought this book as a gift to my daughters preschool so that more children can hear the message that they are special in every way. I definitely recommend this book.”

Ella ~ Mum

“This is not only a truly adorable book but it has been a great teaching resource, helping to build strength and confidence into the students I teach. The students had so much fun making their very own Hugs and love to hear the story over and over. And now with our very own Hug classroom mascot the students are constantly being reminded of their worth. Thank you for such a wonderful and inspiring book.”

Rebecca ~ Primary School Teacher

“The first five years of learning and development is so important for children, and helping children to develop a strong sense of wellbeing is a vital part of this learning and future journey in life. This beautiful book encourages and promotes children's sense of worth, builds confidence and self- esteem. We want children to develop positive self-identities, feel comfortable in their environments, be inspired, and be successful. Through our words and affirmations we can build children up, just like in "The Hug", in the hope that they can feel safe, secure and become aware of just how unique and important they are.”

Who will you be?  That’s up to you! You can choose!

This book is about being the very best you can be.  What a wonderful start in life this is.  Kids can choose how they respond and this wonderful book highlights their choices. “You could be someone who likes to make others feel glad. Or you could be someone who makes others sad”

This book provides an excellent talking point for parents and carers struggling with a child’s behaviour. It’s a read out loud book that brings questions and time for discussing how things are going at home.  What choices is the child making?  How do those choices make both of you feel?

A magical read of one small, cart-wheeling, cuddly hug making a home in a child’s arms.

This is a beautifully written and illustrated story packed full of self-esteem psychology.

‘Hug’ grabs hold of you and shows you how unique and wonderful you are.  Hug introduces the child to positive self talk instructing them to whisper ‘I am brave’, ‘I am clever’, I am as amazing as can be’.

Hug helps the child see how incredible they are and how they can do things themselves that are special and important.

This is a must read for every child, an encouraging story about being happy to be yourself.  “You have already achieved greatness, just by being you”

Gillian Speirs ~ Clinical Psychologist

"I am special because __________.  This incredible book answers that question.

Just as no two snowflakes are alike, no child is the same as another, we are unique individuals. This beautiful book opens up a discussion with our children about their extraordinary uniqueness. “Do you know that you are so special? There is nobody else like you?” It encourages the child to see their talents, their interests and their special dreams.

This book is a spring board to talk about your child their uniqueness.  Use it to talk to your child about how they can sing, help others, dance, act, build Lego, swim, write or draw.  Build them up, help them to believe in themselves and their special abilities.

This wonderful book celebrates the child’s accomplishments through affirmative words. “For you are a treasure, precious one, and you grow more wonderful by the day.”

Gillian Speirs ~ Clinical Psychologist

This joyful interactive story asks the reader if they have ever had a bad day.  What’s it like to scream and kick and feel really bad? As the story continues, the child learns that feeling bad is different to being bad.  It’s okay to feel lots of different emotions, to worry and feel sad.

This beautifully written book, illustrated by little children, provides a perfect opportunity for parents and carers to talk to kids about their emotions.  The story is full of emotion, this a fun book to read out loud. Kids will love to see how they can choose how to smile rather than frown.

I bought the WorryWoo pack at the ACA conference this year after looking for something to help a couple of children in my Kindy class that were struggling with a few heightened emotions. The curriculum that comes with it was easy to navigate and I used this to structure our lessons. We would focus on a different WorryWoo each week, completing tasks each day before lunch. We downloaded the colouring in pages and activities from the website and created a book as well that we extended with after lunch as they children wanted. This was highly successful with more often than not, the children asking each day if they could work on their WorryWoo book. We created homes for the WorryWoos to live as they were introduced and we found the children were highly respectful of them and role played ideas and concepts with them, clarifying emotions as needed. I have noticed a huge difference in my class, not just the children I was thinking it could benefit. I highly recommend this resource to absolutely everyone. It's easy to use and has great benefits.

My school purchased 8 kits for our Kindergarten and Year 1 classes. We are a low socioeconomic school with many problems arriving through the school gate. Often, with these big problems came big feelings! For us, the Woos have helped students to recognise these big feelings and develop some strategies to help deal with them. And more importantly, it has helped our students to realise that they are not alone; and that is probably the best outcome! Even amongst the Kindergarten students, I have seen the light bulbs come on as they realise everyone has yucky feelings sometimes. One little girl even decided there is nothing wrong with her if they wrote a book about being worried.
The kits come with everything you need to help address some big feelings and the gorgeous Woo characters give our kids something to hold onto. I would thoroughly recommend the Woos as a behaviour management approach in all schools and community groups. The more we normalise some big feelings in our little people, the better equipped our students will become.

This book would make a fantastic gift for a child with a baby sibling on the way. It not only reminds them how wonderful and loved they are but explains to them how their baby brother or sister is growing in a simple yet beautiful way.

We LOVE Wonderful Me! The hug makes us feel warm in our hearts and has made the most beautiful gift for our friends. We have a positivity reminder on the bathroom mirror and are about to add the Hug emotion magnets to our wish list.

My daughter was lucky enough to be given this beautiful toy, it went everywhere we went for quite some time. The Hug is still very loved and sits on my daughters bed, she tells her worries to The Hug and he helps to take all her worries away.
